Daniel Giacomelli

Principal Architect

About Daniel

Architecture-first leader turning complex, high-risk environments into clear, executable systems. I work at the intersection of enterprise architecture, GRC, and modernization, translating ambiguity into models leaders can use and teams can deliver.

Grounded in Business Architecture and a People-Process-Technology lens, I design conceptual, logical, and physical architectures that align business intent, security, and operations. The goal is decision-ready models, governance cadence, and delivery roadmaps that reduce risk and make execution predictable.

My work typically spans three roles:

• Principal / Enterprise Architect: current-state to future-state models that unify teams, expose dependencies, and guide modernization across cloud, infrastructure, identity, data, and security.

• Director of GRC and Cybersecurity: governance that runs day to day by translating PCI, NIST, HIPAA, SOC 2, HECVAT, ITIL, PMP, ICS2 CC, and TX-RAMP into embedded controls, repeatable evidence cycles, and audit-ready operating rhythms.

• Technical Program Director: sequencing modernization across technology, security, compliance, and delivery teams to improve readiness and reduce organizational risk.

I also operate where architecture meets AI, designing AI-enabled platform architectures and Responsible AI governance with clear data flows, identity boundaries, segmentation, risk gating, and evidence trails that stand up to review.

Known for making the invisible visible, I use diagrams and models as shared language across executives, engineers, security, and delivery teams to accelerate trust, alignment, and execution across regulated environments.

Representative results include reduced enterprise risk exposure, improved external security ratings, shortened client assurance timelines, and modernization of hybrid AWS, Azure, and IBM environments under regulated constraints.

Best fit: roles with real scope and aligned leadership where architecture-first governance, modernization, and cross-team partnership translate into sustained impact.
