Leadership Level: Director
Compensation Package: $240,000 – $310,000 (Base + Annual Bonus + Long-Term Incentives)

About the Role

In modern enterprises, quality is no longer a final checkpoint; it is a strategic capability that protects brand trust, accelerates innovation, and enables scale. We are seeking a Director of Quality Assurance to lead the enterprise quality function for a complex, technology-driven organization delivering highly reliable, secure, and scalable digital products at a global scale.

This role is designed for a leader who can redefine quality from inspection to prevention, embedding quality engineering, automation, and risk-based testing into every stage of the product lifecycle. You will oversee quality strategy across platforms, products, and services, ensuring that releases meet the highest standards for reliability, performance, security, and compliance.

As Director of Quality Assurance, you will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Security, and Operations to build a modern QA operating model leveraging automation, CI/CD integration, AI-assisted testing, and advanced observability. Your mandate is to reduce defects, accelerate delivery, and increase confidence across releases, while ensuring that quality scales with the business.

This is not a test-execution role. It is an opportunity to own quality as a leadership discipline, shaping how products are built, validated, and trusted across the enterprise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the enterprise quality assurance strategy across products, platforms, and services.
  • Lead the transition to a quality engineering model with strong test automation, shift-left practices, and CI/CD integration.
  • Establish quality standards, frameworks, and governance aligned with enterprise risk tolerance and delivery velocity.
  • Oversee functional, integration, regression, performance, security, and reliability testing across releases.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to embed quality into design, development, and deployment processes.
  • Implement metrics and dashboards to track quality health, release readiness, defect trends, and risk exposure.
  • Drive adoption of modern testing tools, automation frameworks, and AI-assisted quality practices.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
  • Build, mentor, and scale high-performing QA and quality engineering teams globally.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, security, and industry quality standards.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Software Delivery leadership.
  • Proven success leading QA functions within large-scale, enterprise technology environments.

  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and high-availability platforms.
  • Solid understanding of performance testing, security testing, and reliability engineering concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence engineering culture and delivery practices at scale.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive quality and release decisions.

Personal Capabilities and Qualifications

  • Strategic thinker with a strong execution mindset and attention to detail.
  • Trusted leader who can influence without authority across engineering and product teams.
  • Highly analytical, structured, and outcome-oriented.
  • Calm, decisive presence during high-risk releases or incidents.
  • Strong people leader committed to developing talent and accountability.
  • Clear communicator who can translate technical quality risks into business impact.

Strategic Support

  • Serve as a strategic partner to Engineering, Product, and Executive leadership on quality and risk management.
  • Support enterprise digital transformation and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Advise leadership on release readiness, quality trade-offs, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to ensure quality aligns with governance requirements.
  • Enable faster, safer innovation by institutionalizing quality as a core capability.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work model with collaboration across global engineering and product teams.
  • High-visibility role with accountability for enterprise release quality.
