As the organization continues to grow in complexity and scale, Technical Operations plays a pivotal role in ensuring system reliability, performance, security, and operational resilience.
The Senior Head of Technical Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide technical operations, infrastructure services, service reliability, and operational governance. This leader ensures platforms are scalable, secure, and continuously optimized while enabling innovation across engineering and product teams.
This role is ideal for a technical operations leader who combines deep infrastructure knowledge with strong operational discipline and executive-level leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise technical operations across cloud infrastructure, platforms, and production environments.
- Define and execute technical operations strategy aligned with business growth and digital transformation objectives.
- Oversee availability, performance, incident management, and disaster recovery programs.
- Drive adoption of DevOps, SRE, automation, and observability best practices.
- Partner with Engineering, Security, Product, and Architecture teams to ensure operational readiness.
- Establish governance frameworks for change management, risk mitigation, and service continuity.
- Lead infrastructure optimization initiatives focused on performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships and third-party service providers.
- Build and mentor senior technical operations leaders and distributed teams.
- Provide executive-level reporting on system health, operational risks, and performance metrics.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in Technical Operations, Infrastructure Leadership, or Platform Operations roles.
- Proven success managing large-scale, highly available production systems.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience implementing ITSM, DevOps, and reliability frameworks at scale.
- Strong operational and financial acumen.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with experience engaging senior leadership.
