Senior Vice President, Merchandising

About the Role

We are seeking an innovative and strategically minded Senior Vice President, Merchandising, to lead the global merchandising strategy for a prestigious multinational luxury retail and omnichannel commerce organization serving discerning customers across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and emerging global markets. This executive leadership role will be responsible for shaping the company’s product assortment strategy, brand positioning, and merchandising operations across both physical retail locations and digital commerce platforms.

The Senior Vice President, Merchandising, will play a central role in defining the organization’s product vision and ensuring that merchandise assortments align with evolving consumer preferences, global fashion trends, and the company’s long-term brand strategy. As the retail industry continues to evolve with the integration of digital commerce, data analytics, and personalized shopping experiences, the SVP will guide the transformation of the company’s merchandising approach to ensure sustained competitive advantage.

This role will oversee global merchandising teams responsible for product strategy, category management, inventory planning, trend forecasting, and vendor partnerships across multiple product lines, including luxury apparel, accessories, footwear, lifestyle products, and premium consumer goods. The Senior Vice President, Merchandising, will collaborate closely with design teams, marketing leadership, supply chain operations, and digital commerce specialists to ensure product offerings resonate with customers and drive revenue growth.

A major responsibility of the role will involve developing global merchandising frameworks that combine creative product vision with data-driven insights. By leveraging advanced retail analytics and market intelligence tools, the SVP will identify emerging consumer trends and translate them into compelling product assortments that strengthen the brand’s global presence.

The Senior Vice President, Merchandising, will also guide vendor and supplier partnerships, negotiating strategic agreements with global fashion houses, manufacturers, and product development partners. These collaborations will ensure the company maintains access to high-quality products while preserving the exclusivity and craftsmanship associated with luxury retail.

In addition to product strategy, the SVP will oversee inventory optimization initiatives that balance product availability with efficient supply chain management. This includes implementing predictive demand forecasting systems and inventory planning tools that support efficient product distribution across retail stores and digital channels.

Another critical component of the role will involve strengthening collaboration between merchandising teams and digital commerce platforms. As online shopping continues to transform retail experiences, the SVP will guide initiatives that integrate merchandising strategy with digital merchandising capabilities such as personalized product recommendations, virtual product displays, and omnichannel retail experiences.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive leadership experience in global merchandising strategy, product management, or retail brand development within luxury retail companies, multinational fashion brands, or large-scale consumer goods organizations. This individual must possess a strong understanding of global consumer trends, exceptional commercial acumen, and the leadership capabilities required to manage large international merchandising teams.

Ultimately, the Senior Vice President, Merchandising will play a transformative role in shaping the company’s global product strategy while ensuring that the brand continues to deliver exceptional merchandise experiences that inspire customers and drive sustained growth.
