About the Role

As customer expectations evolve and speed, accuracy, and transparency become essential, the distribution function serves as a critical engine of operational success.
The Senior Vice President of Distribution is responsible for shaping the end-to-end distribution strategy, ensuring operational excellence across all distribution centers, and driving modernisation through automation, data-driven performance management, and continuous improvement. This leader will influence network design, workforce optimization, risk mitigation, and service level performance across a highly complex, multi-location distribution ecosystem.
This position is ideal for a senior executive who excels in dynamic environments, understands modern logistics technologies, and brings deep expertise in high-volume distribution, network optimization, and enterprise-scale operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction, operational oversight, and continuous improvement of all distribution centers across the network.
- Develop multi-year distribution strategies focused on efficiency, cost optimization, quality, and service reliability.
- Oversee workforce planning, safety programs, performance optimization, and productivity initiatives.
- Implement automation, robotics, warehouse management systems (WMS), and advanced logistics technologies.
- Lead operational governance, including KPIs, dashboards, service levels, compliance, and performance management.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Merchandising, and Finance to ensure alignment across the fulfillment ecosystem.
- Drive distribution network design, facility planning, capacity expansion, and operational scaling.
- Support cost reduction programs while protecting service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee vendor relationships, procurement activities, 3PL partnerships, and network-wide contracts.
- Lead risk management, operational continuity, disaster recovery planning, and regulatory compliance.
- Build, train, and develop high-performing distribution leadership teams across multiple sites.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in Distribution Operations, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or large-scale fulfillment leadership.
- Experience overseeing multi-site distribution networks, high-volume operations, or automated warehouse environments.
- Strong understanding of supply chain technologies, WMS, TMS, robotics, automation, and data-driven performance systems.
- Proven ability to manage large operational budgets, cost structures, and financial forecasting.
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree or advanced supply chain certification preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading transformation initiatives and improving operational KPIs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with experience presenting to executives and board-level leaders.
- Ability to manage global or geographically dispersed teams.

- Partner with IT and Technology teams to integrate advanced systems and strengthen digital operational capabilities.
- Provide executive-level insights on industry trends, emerging risks, and long-range distribution opportunities.
